There were two additional partitions by HP on the original disk which had drive letters for some time. Also run ESET AV remover, so everything should have been removed. after that I uninstalled Avira Antivirus (Windows uninstall + manufacturer tool, also in safe mode) and SuperAntiSpyware (windows uninstall), although they had never been a problem upgrading from Win7 to Win10 version 1511 and Win10 version 1607.
